Surface Active Therapeutics are advanced treatments applied directly to the skin (or a surface) to provide highly effective and sustained antimicrobial protection. They involve using enhanced antimicrobial materials that form a continuous protective shield over the skin. This shield is made of a polymer matrix, which combines active and passive components to guard against harmful pathogens.
TridAnt® is a biocompatible antimicrobial technology that provides state-of-the-art infection protection. The technology utilises 30 years of expertise garnered from improving infection prevention on a wide range of long-term medical implants.
The material forms spikes that stay on the surface, fast action protection and ensures long-lasting effectiveness. The matrix is designed to actively attract and target live germs and disinfect them within seconds without harming human cells. TridAnt® combines active and passive components to block, repel and kill germs. Additionally, it can prevent and disrupt the formation of biofilms (without physical abrasion), making it an innovative approach to combat a wide range of infections effectively.
This system does not use metals, materials or components that release in order to kill germs.

TridAnt® Antimicrobial technology represents a breakthrough in biocompatible antimicrobial materials. It is the first known biocompatible material that effectively kills enveloped and non-enveloped viruses, Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria (including drug resistant bacteria), fungi, yeast and spores (including super bugs such as Clostridium Difficile) as well as prevents biofilm formation for years.
It combines active and passive components to inhibit protein deposition and bacterial adhesion, offering multi-faceted protection for a wide variety of surfaces including medical devices, surgical theaters and other highly contaminated areas. It features a unique Contact to Contact Kill Mechanism that kills germs in 15 seconds, ensuring immediate protection against all germs with sustained protection that stays active for extremely long periods of time.
TridAnt® delivers comprehensive protection, effectively eliminating a wide range of germs, including Clostridium Difficile, Norovirus, MRSA, E.Coli (carbapenem resistant), Klebsiella Pneumoniae, Acinetobacter Baumannii and Pseudomonas.

TridAnt® Tests and Trials
TridAnt® antimicrobial technology has been tested to the highest international standards (including in clean and dirty conditions). It has also been dermatologically tested, to provide long-lasting hydration as well as confirming it is suitable to use on all skin types including sensitive skin. It is easy to apply and ensures constant protection even when in contact with other surfaces.
In addition to laboratory tests, TridAnt® has been implemented into real world trials in healthcare environments including care homes, medical wards and surgical wards.
TridAnt® has been optimised from biocompatible technology used on medical implants. These medical devices must pass rigorous biocompatibility testing as well as clinical trials in order to receive regulatory approval for use in humans.
